In Odisha, the government has introduced a program called the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. Its main aim? To provide pensions to the elderly, widows, and people with disabilities. This scheme came to life by merging two older pension programs: the Revised Old Age Pension Rules from 1989 and the Disability Pension Rules from 1985. Right now, it’s already making a difference in the lives of 47 lakh individuals. But the government isn’t stopping there. They’re working hard to expand its reach, aiming to help a total of 50 lakh people. The initiative was kicked off by the State’s Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik. To be eligible for the scheme, you must meet the following criteria:

• You’re a widow, regardless of age.
• You’re affected by leprosy with visible signs of deformity, no matter your age.
• You’re above 5 years old and may have disabilities like blindness, physical handicaps, intellectual disabilities, or cerebral palsy.
• You’re a widow diagnosed with AIDS or an AIDS patient registered with the State/District AIDS Control Society.
• Your family income doesn’t exceed Rs. 24,000.
• You’re a resident of Odisha.
• You’re not receiving any other pensions from the Union Government, State Government, or other government-assisted organizations.

Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Benefits of the Scheme:

• If you’re aged up to 79, you’ll receive Rs. 300 per month.
• If you’re 80 or older, your monthly pension increases to Rs. 500.
• The amount is credited to your bank account on the 15th of every month.

Checking Your Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Application Status

1. Visit the Track Application Status page of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
2. Navigate to the homepage and click on the “Apply for Scheme” option.
3. A new tab will open up. From the drop-down list, choose “Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.”
4. Enter your Application Number when prompted and hit enter.
5. Voila! You can now see the status of your application.

How to Apply Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Online

1. Go to the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities website
2. On the homepage, locate “Pension Schemes” and click on it. This action will open a new tab titled “Application for Beneficiary.”
3. In the “Choose Scheme” section, pick “Madhu Babu Pension Scheme.”
4. Click “Proceed,” and you’ll see the application form on your screen.
5. Fill in all the required information accurately and hit “Submit.”
6. Congratulations! You’ve successfully registered for the Yojana.
